Generally speaking, there are clearances around gas meters and the vents at the regulators which are typically next to the gas meters.
As I recall, the clearance to an ignition source is 3 feet and the clearance to a building opening is 5 feet (a window is a building opening).
The best source for this information is your gas company as they will have their requirements, which may be more restrictive than the NFPA codes (which may or may not be adopted for your area).
