Wil,

What code you are building under?

Without knowing what code you are under, I will say yes, a hand washing sink is needed in each exam room - this answer is simply based on what I have always seen.

I need to I know the applicable code you are building under. The code likely is an edition of the IBC - International Building Code - and possibly with state/local amendments, also which edition of the code (2015, 2018, ?) makes a differences.

What state are you in, and is there a statewide adopted code or locally adopted codes?

Wil,

The Florida Building Code is based on the ICC codes, however, the Florida codes have Florida specific amendments, and the Florida Building Code is the same across the state (with a few HVHZ differences for Muami-Dade and Broward counties ... but those differences are for structural, not plumbing.

I will see what I can find and get back to you on it soon.

The best answer is: no ... maybe ... yes ... it depends.

'no' - I did not find a requirement for a sink in each exam room in the "building codes"; however; the "building codes" are not the only governing requirements, and some of those other requirements indicate the 'yes'/'maybe'/'it depends' answers.

Here are some links which may guide you to your final answer, but my take is: yes, put a hand washing sink in each exam room during construction or renovation, rather than have to do it later at greater expense:

(place cursor/mouse over link, right click, select 'Open in new tab')
'yes' - http://www.ahcaseminar.com/Speaker%20pd ... pitals.pdf

'yes' - https://www.jointcommission.org/standar ... d=&print=y

'maybe'/'it dpends' - http://blogs.hcpro.com/osha/2009/04/ask ... xam-rooms/

Hopefully, the above will help guide you in the right direction toward the your answer.
